Frequently Asked Questions
How long can we expect to be at the event?
Expect to be strolling around and taking in the atmosphere for approx 60-90 minutes to fully experience it.
We expect most people will wander around the trail more than once while at the event.
Is the trail wheelchair/ mobility scooter accessible?
The trail is wheelchair and mobility accessible and is on a mix of tarmac pathways and temporary tracking. Please ensure your chair can accommodate slightly uneven surfaces for certain parts of the track.
Are dogs allowed?
Guide dogs and registered assistance dogs are permitted on site.
Will there be strobe lighting?
Yes, areas with strobe lighting will be clearly marked, allowing you to avoid them if necessary.
In other locations, there will be lighting sequences with flashing lights, but these will not be strobe lights. The lights will flash no more than 5 times per second in these areas.
What should I wear?
The Light Trail is an outdoor event. Wrap up warm with sufficient waterproof clothing and outdoor footwear – Be prepared for the rain.
The trail is on a mix of tarmac pathways and temporary tracking.
What about the weather?
The trail is outdoors and will operate in most weather conditions, including snow, sleet and rain.
Under severe weather conditions we may need to cancel and reschedule. In the unlikely event of this happening we will contact you to reschedule your tickets to the next available date.
Information will be updated daily on our website and social media channels notifying of any cancellations as soon as possible.
FOOD AND DRINK FAQS
What food options are available?
Our Sparkle Cafe, located next to our UV GARDEN, will be serving up a selection of lighter food options aswell as a selection of hot and cold drinks.
Is there a bar?
As this is a family event it is an alcohol free zone. No alcohol is permitted on site.

Direction for a Car?
WinterGlow.ie is located at Fr. Burke Park on Fr Griffin Road, Galway.
To get here just follow road signs from all major routes. For parking, follow the signs Gate entrance.
PARKING IS LIMITED – Our parking area in GTI is on a first come, first served basis €2/hour for customers of Winterglow only.
What are the closest Train/Bus Station to Fr. Burke Road?
The closest train station is Ceannt train station located in Eyre Square. From here it is a 10 minute taxi ride to Fr. Burke Park or 20 mins walk.
Bus Routes:
Fr. Griffin Road, 5 mins walk.
Leonardos Hotel, 9 mins walk.
Spanish Arch Hotel, 9 mins walk,
Salthill Road Lower, 11 mins walk.

Where can I park?
Please park in GTI Galway car park, follow the signs for the Gate entrance for access. Parking is available at WinterGlow – Most of the car park is tarmacked and accessible spaces are available for blue badge holders.
Parking is charged at €2/hour.
What do I do when I arrive?
Upon arrival, please follow the designated event signage. Once parked, enter through the front gate, where a steward will assist you . Tickets will only need to be presented at the entrance.
Adverse weather plan?
WinterGlow.ie is an outdoor winter event. We will therefore be open and operational throughout all usual winter weather conditions, which will include inclement weather such as rain, sleet and snow. We remind all guests to dress appropriately for the seasonal weather.
The health and safety of our visitors and staff remains at all times our paramount consideration. Throughout every day of the event, weather conditions will be monitored by the WinterGlow.ie team.
In the unlikely event that weather conditions on site pose a risk to the health and safety of our visitors or staff, we may make the decision to cancel certain parts of the event on that given night. Any decision to cancel would be made as early as possible, but weather can also be unpredictable.
Any decision to cancel any part of the WinterGlow.ie event will be made by the organisers and any such decision will be final.
What happens if an attraction is cancelled on a day I am booked to come?
In the unlikely event that an attraction at WinterGlow.ie has to be cancelled due to adverse weather or for any other reasons, all persons booked for that date will be notified of the cancellation via email as soon as possible.
Live updates will be made daily via our social media platforms and website. We advise customers to check for the latest updates before travelling.
Full details of the next steps will be contained within the email notifying customers of the cancellation, including details as to how they can re-book for the next available date.
No refunds, under any circumstances will be possible on any night when the event is running.
Tickets are non-refundable for any non-attendance, under any circumstances on any night when the event is running.
WinterGlow.ie will not be liable for any other costs incurred by customers.
Are toilets available?
There are accessible toilet facilities on site. These are located at point of entry.
Do you accept Cash?
Yes we accept both card and cash payments, however there will not be a cashpoint on site. The closest ATM is in Centra on Raven’s Terrace here.
TICKET FAQS
Where can I purchase a ticket?
Tickets can be purchased online through this website only Click here and there will also be a facility to purchase tickets at the gate upon arrival. While you can buy tickets on the day via our website, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Please note that all tickets are non-refundable.
How much are tickets?

Tickets are €6.50 per child and €16.50 per adult. We also offer a family pass for 2A+ 2C @ €36.50

Do I need to print my ticket?
Your booking confirmation email will have all of your ticket information, as well as your e-ticket QR code, this is all that you will be required to bring with you to gain entry to the event. This does not need to be printed.
What does the time on my ticket signify?
The time on your ticket is the time that you should arrive at the entrance. To avoid large queues please make sure that you arrive at the time you have booked.
Can I change my ticket?
Yes you can change your ticket to another day or time. Please Click here to do so.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
Yes you can buy tickets on the day however, to avoid disappointment, we recommend pre-booking online before you travel as the event sells out in advance.
I’ve lost my ticket, what can I do?
Please check your spam folder if you have not received your email.
If not please contact us by clicking here and we will look after you as quickly as possible. Alternatively you can give your name at the entry and we will find your registered ticket on the system for you.
What if I have booked and arrive late?
Please arrive on time to ensure you have the full amount of time to enjoy this magical event – it is important to arrive early!
Do you offer refunds?
Tickets are non-refundable. (This does not affect your statutory rights)
